The Prince of Wales Plans to Join COP30 Climate Summit in South America
Prince William will represent the COP30 climate summit in Brazil during November, as announced by royal officials.
Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a reception preceding the environmental conference, which is planned for in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.
The King and Prince were participating in the museum gathering, marking an unusual joint appearance at a pre-COP30 gathering co-hosted by the British authorities.
Environmental Advocacy Commitment
The King has been a consistent supporter of protecting nature - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be hosted in Rio preceding the climate conference.
Royal sources have characterized Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as stepping up an significant responsibility in "global climate discussions".
Recent Engagements
The King and Prince of Wales, arriving together in the official car, were introduced to guests including conservation experts, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and politicians.
This involvement involved presentations together with President Emmanuel Macron of France and other international figures at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco in recent months.

The climate conference will dovetail with the prince's own sustainability recognition program, which will finish in Rio de Janeiro the day before he participates in the COP summit on 6 November.

King Charles has been a prominent presence at previous climate summits, providing the introductory remarks in Dubai for COP28, including the reminder: "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth".
"Throughout my life I've dedicated a large proportion of my life trying to alert people to the existential threats challenging our world over global warming, global temperature increases and biodiversity loss," the King told delegates.
