Mario's Galactic Adventure Trailer Arrives, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo alongside Illumination released the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. The reveal happened in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that highlighted the upcoming animated film.
The follow-up to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will transport Mario to the distant reaches of the galaxy. Along the way, he discovers a fresh princess character and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
An Interstellar Journey Drawing from Iconic Releases
Similar to the Wii-era games that act as its source material, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. Throughout his extensive trek, he will encounter once more some recognizable characters, such as the Luma, a fan favorite from the first movie.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who reportedly commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also features references to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Come Back and Grow
The feature will feature once again of the primary vocal talent, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
Mario's Major Moment
The upcoming Mario film is set to release close to the 40-year celebration of the original Super Mario Bros. game. In addition to the movie, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his friends.
Nintendo confirmed a trio of new releases publicly declared for 2026, including Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Launch Date Set
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
